Premier League 2018/19
Venue: Cardiff City Stadium
Kick-off time: 5:30pm GMT

Tottenham will be desperate to bounce back from their shock defeat to Wolves when they take on Cardiff City this evening.

Harry Kane gave his side the lead on Saturday with a superb strike before Mauricio Pochettino’s side conceded three times in 18 minutes to throw away three points.

Spurs must start again in their attempts to cut the gap between themselves and Premier League leaders Liverpool, which is back to nine points.

Team news and line-ups

Cardiff XI: Etheridge, Ecuele Manga, Bamba, Morrison, Cunningham, Gunnarsson, Reid, Victor Camarasa, Arter, Josh Murphy, Paterson

Subs: Peltier, Bennett, Ralls, Smithies, Mendez-Laing, Madine, Hoilett

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Trippier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Rose, Sissoko, Winks, Son, Alli, Eriksen, Kane

Subs: Walker-Peters, Llorente, Foyth, Gazzaniga, Lucas Moura, Davies, Skipp

Referee: Kevin Friend (Leicestershire)

Score prediction: Cardiff 1-2 Tottenham

With Cardiff flying after their victory away to Leicester, it is an awkward fixture for Spurs to begin the New Year with.

Injuries ensure there isn't much room for rotation in the squad which could play into Neil Warnock's hands but Spurs should have enough firepower to ensure they walk away with three points.
