Cardiff today - running, walking and more on buses

Good morning Cardiff!

More than 4,000 people took part in the sunny Sport Relief run yesterday, which finished in Roald Dahl Plass in Cardiff Bay. Here's a great picture at the start line posted on What's on in Cardiff. Entrants ran either one, three, or six miles and there'll no doubt be a number of sore legs waking up and waddling to work this morning.

A new exhibition from Cardiff-based artists starts at Cardiff Arts Institute today. Project Ten is a local gallery collective showcasing work from ten artists. The official launch of the gallery space and exhibition will be this Friday at 8pm.

News from the weekend. Cardiff City Stadium has been given the go ahead by the council's licensing sub committee to put on live music concert, reports WalesOnline.

Councillor Simon Pickard has said travel expenses used by councillors to pay for taxi fares and mileage to get to and from council meetings should be scrapped, read the full report here. On the blogs, young and old from Ely have got together to form the Lov-Elys, reports The Sprout. Combining students from Glyn Derw High School and a local number from Age Concern, the group have written a new play about their area - It's Complicated - staged this week in west Cardiff. The Sprout also notes the uptake of a new scheme in Cardiff to help Special Educational Needs pupils use bus networks to get to and from school.
