Cardiff today – Riverside councillor, and Cardiff referendum results

Good morning Cardiff! Riversiders, welcome to a new political landscape.

Last night votes were counted for the Riverside byelection and Labour candidate Iona Gordon won with 1,700 votes. We'll have a report on the blog this morning with the details.

Also today the count will begin for the Assembly referendum vote – we'll be bringing you live updates from the Senedd where announcements from each electorate will be made – and bring a special report on the Cardiff count.

What's making Cardiff tick today?

After Cardiff council's announcement of the regulations for royal wedding street parties in the city – Vale of Glamorgan council has also announced some rules for revellers – check them out here.
