Good morning Cardiff!
Today at County Hall the environmental scrutiny committee will meet at 4.30pm. On the agenda a waste management and street cleansing business plan and a report from a task and finish group set up to review the impact on resources of highway management as a result of the growth of Cardiff – we'll bring you all the latest.
Tonight's Lower Grangetown Community meeting has been postponed so watch out for updates on the next meeting if this is for you.
There will be a public meeting on the Splott incinerator at St German Hall at 7.30pm, and the Yarn and Yarn knitting group will be meeting in Cardiff Arts Institute for their Velindre Chick Knit appeal. Read our post about it here.
This evening all the people who are busy doing things in the city will meeting for an exceptional show and tell session organised by Cardiff Transition Project. Featuring canton Carbon Cutters, the Co-Housing Group, the Orchard Project and more – 'Show, Share and Tell' will take place at Zero Degrees from 7-9pm and you can sign up to attend here.

Cardiff Blues sportsman Jamie Roberts will undergo surgery to his wrist and will return home from New Zealand where he was on tour with Wales this summer. He said:
"It's pretty disappointingto be missing more or less the first half of the season, but I will certainly use the time whilst injured to rid my body of any niggles I have and come back to the field in good knick and aim to lift more silverware with the Blues."
In other Blues news, Andy Powell looks set to leave the team. Director of Rugby David Young said Powell's recent incident of drink driving a golf buggy on the motorway had meant he had had a bad season.

Cardiff Civic Society have responded to the planning officer's report on the Pontcanna Pine planning application-which draws attention to the lack of housing policy following the scrapped LDP plan. Chair of the society, Peter Cox, said:
"We have asked local councillors to clarify their position on the lack of policy: an issue that also clearly needs to be addressed at a strategic level before developers overrun the city."
