Cardiff today - Planning meeting, picnic protest and Welsh author Readathon

Good morning Cardiff!

Following a passionate meeting with residents in Splott about the planned Viridor incinerator, we'll be bringing you news from last night.

On the blog today, there'll be more news about a programme for street cleansing in the city and later on we'll bring you news from the council's planning committee – looking in particular at the verdict on the controversial Pontcanna Pine proposals.

Today a protest picnic is planned for Bute Park to 'Reclaim the bridge' – read our post on it here.

Tonight the Oxfam Cymru Readathon will take place at Milgi – the event is free so make sure you pop down to hear some of Wales's top authors. You can also read our interview with one of the participants and find out more here.

There will also be a pact meeting in Plasnewydd – more details are on ourbobby.com.
