Cardiff today: New toddlers group, style blogzine and executive meet

Good morning Cardiff!

Today, "Sbonc a Chlonc" Ti a Fi Parent & Toddlers Group opens at Tabernacle Chapel, The Hayes – we'll have more on this on the blog this morning.

The executive will meet at County Hall this afternoon – find out what's on the agenda from our earlier post this week here.

Tonight Seren's first Thursday meeting will see TS Eliot's poems read at Chapter Arts Centre while the Ready Writers Group will meet at Bethel Church on Michaelson Road in Culverhouse Cross.

What's making Cardiff tick today?

Public consultation on the future of Whitchurch hospital will start on Friday reports WalesOnline.

There will also be a series of public meetings regarding changes to maternity services in Cardiff reports BBC Wales.

First minister Carwyn Jones sets out his earl thoughts following the government's spending review on Click on Wales.

He writes:

After working so hard, for so long, we are not about to throw in the towel. Everyone would prefer to deliver public services with expanding budgets.  Today that's not an option – it's simply not the position we're in. But for Wales in 2010 there is one saving grace.  We've faced economic difficulties before.  The difference is that today's Wales is a devolved Wales, where we can make our own choices. It is also a more confident Wales – ready and more than able to take the next step ahead.
