Today the Welsh Women's Aid conference will take place at Chapter Arts Centre, starting at 10.30am and finishing at 3pm. The event is called 'Between the glass ceiling and the mud floor' and is organised as part of the International Women's Day 2010 festival. Speakers at the event include Julie Morgan MP, Nerys Evans AM and Jennifer Dunne from the Equality and Human Rights Commission. Tickets for seats and lunch have sold out but the event is free so if you fancy squeezing in at the back there's more info here.
At County Hall today the Cardiff Council Business Committee will take place at 3pm.

The date for this year's Mardi Gras festival has been announced on the festival's website. BBC Wales reports rugby star Gareth Thomas and referee Nigel Owens have shown their support for the event, which will take place on 4 September 2010.
