Cardiff today - election special

Happy election day Cardiff! You might have been thinking it would never come – but finally the General Election is upon us and 227 polling stations across the city will open from 7am to 10pm to take in your vote.

If you're still not sure of where to go – download this pdf from Cardiff Council which shows all the polling stations in the city (N for Cardiff North, W for Cardiff West, SP for Cardiff South and Penarth and C for Central).

There's also this election map for you to keep up with the results for Wales over on WalesOnline.

Throughout the day we'll be bringing you reports from the polling stations to give a flavour of how the day is panning out. Then tonight check back to our late night live blog to find out the latest from the count for all four Cardiff constituencies.

Here's a round up of our coverage so far

The boys from Politics Cymru gave us a great overview of the political scene in the city. Here's Glyn Tansley's round up of the city's politics and Steffan Powell's blogpost on what a hung parliament would mean for Cardiff.

Read interviews with the current Mps for Cardiff here. We've also got all the information you need to know on your constituency – click on the page links below to see who your candidates are and what kind of election material the've been posting through doors – we also have one-line manifesto from every candidate in Cardiff which you might like to read before you head to the ballot box.

Cardiff South and Penarth – manifestos here
Cardiff Central – manifestos here
Cardiff West – manifestos here

You can also read our reports from the Cardiff North and Cardiff Central hustings and the Our Cardiff debate here. We've also looked at other issues surrounding the election such as how much your vote will count in each constituency and how to cast your vote.

On the blogs, Rhys Wynne criticises the Tory election material posted through his door in Cardiff West on his blog Smiling Under Buses.

There's a good debate going on in the comments on WalesHome on whether this was a 'social media election'.

Cardiff councillor Jayne Cowan reports on the Cardiff North hustings which took place this week on yourCardiff.
