In the news, Capture Cardiff reveals how much Cardiff councillors spend on private transport to and from County Hall – costing taxpayers roughly £30 a day. In the article, councillors admit avoiding using the Cardiff Bus service because getting anywhere in the city requires catching two buses, with Ely councillor Susan Goddard spending £1,190.45 on taxis last year. Julie Morgan's private members bill to ban under 18s using sun beds in England and Wales has progressed to the next stage of becoming a law. The bill, which also proposes to ban all unmanned salons is now in the hands of the House of Lords after Conservative MP Chistopher Chope failed to amend the bill, reports BBC Wales.
A section of the river Ely will close temporarily later this month for work to begin on the new Pont y Werin bridge, reports the Penarth Times.
