What's making Cardiff tick today?
In the news, a new car hire scheme will be launched in the city centre, the South Wales Echo reports. The scheme, run by city car club will encourage citizens to avoid buying a second car and aim to clear the city's clogged streets.
A Cardiff man gave up the bright lights of Hollywood to set up home in the Welsh capital and is now recording a low budget film in Cardiff, WalesOnline reports.
This week the Penarth Heights development – currently underway at the old Billybanks estate, will go on show, WalesOnline reports.
Planet Ice will build the new ice rink at the international sports village, BBC Wales reports, which will also house the Cardiff Devils ice hockey team.
Cardiff North Lib Dem Fenella Bowden is concerned about new plans for a retail outlet on the corner of Lon y Groes and Caerphilly Road. Read more here.

Yesterday hip hop blog Chrome Kids celebrated their second anniversary with a party at Cardiff Arts Institute. Blogger who set up the site, Kaptin, said:
"It has been an influential site despite being a fairly low key one and has luckily grown alongside many Cardiff acts such as Monky and Stagga."
The site also has a 'real-life' extension of Djs playing at Glastonbury and SWN and soon to be playing at Bestival this year. Check out the blog here.
