What's making Cardiff tick today?

In the news, students from University of Wales Institute Cardiff were out protesting on Friday morning against cuts to humanities courses, the Cardiffian reports. The University of Wales Institute, Cardiff has been criticised for planning to axe its history and politics department while its vice chancellor pockets £226,635 a year, WalesOnline reports.

A freedom of information request has revealed 2,319 complaints lodged against Cardiff buses in the last 14 months, the Cardiffian reports, as passengers criticised drivers' attitudes, standards of driving and their failure to stop to pick up passengers.

The Cardiffian also reveals funding ring fenced by Cardiff council for emergency respite for carers looking after family members has not been used over the past year.
