Cardiff today - becoming a digital city and local bloggers get together

Good morning Cardiff!

Today at County Hall the performance and review scrutiny committee will meet at 4.30pm.

Tonight we're hosting an informal bloggers meet-up with Nicky Getgood from Talk About Local from 6-8pm at Y Fuwch Goch. Drop in anytime.

Wales will become the first digital nation (making Cardiff the first digital capital) today reports BBC Wales. Later on I'll bring you footage from the laser beam which swept over Cardiff to mark the event last night – but the message from Digital UK is re-tune your set.

In the news, the Melingriffith pump in Whitchurch is being transported to a specialist plant in Pontypridd to be repaired, reports WalesOnline.

Police are appealing for anyone with information on a man who was found in a toilet in Capitol Exchange shopping centre this month. More details here.

Dog mess on Dinas Powys FC will be policed more heavily following local complaints, reports Penarth Times.

On the blogs, Green Granma bemoans Cardiff Council's use of the idiom – 'easy as ABC'. She looks at their article published in the council newspaper Capital Times which announces the new bus information visible on bus stops – Granma tries to ring Bus users UK Cymru to get a comment from Barclay Davies on the information and is met with silence.
