Car lands on roof in Cardiff street after driver swerves to avoid cat

A car overturned and landed on its roof after the driver swerved to avoid a cat on a Cardiff residential street.

The incident happened on Ordell Street in the Splott area of the city shortly before 3.30pm on Wednesday.

One car - a red Seat - was seen lying on its roof in the middle of the road, near the junction with Carlisle Street.

Officers from South Wales Police were in attendance at the scene of the incident, and closed the road as recovery of the vehicle was arranged.

The Welsh Ambulance Service also sent an emergency ambulance to the scene.

Nobody was injured as a result of the crash, with police confirming that no driving offences had been committed.

A spokeswoman fro South Wales Police said: "The driver admitted swerving to avoid a cat causing his car to roll and damage to other vehicles.

"No-one was injured and following routine enquiries it was established that no driving offences had been committed.
