A winter wonderland just a short train journey away from Bristol has unveiled some new attractions for this year's festive season.
Cardiff's Winter Wonderland is officially opening its doors in the Welsh capital at 12pm today (November 8).
The annual Christmas attraction will feature a totally new layout compared to previous years, Wales Online reports.
This year, the massive drop tower has been replaced by the equally impressive Big Wheel.
Another new feature is the Alpine Ice Trail, which is a 250m-long, open-air ice trail and the only one of its kind in the UK.
Discussing the trail, Jason Venables from organising team Eleventh Hour, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to announce our Alpine Ice Trail - it’s definitely something we know is really going to ‘wow’ our guests this year.
"Both our ice rink and ice trail are accessible for all and we look forward to welcoming everyone on site with us for 2019."
Other attractions that are making a comeback include:
- A fun house
- Dodgems
- Kids ski lift ride
- Various fun fair games
- Santa sleigh rides
- Ice skater (that takes you up and spins you around)
- Barrel of laughs (literally a barrel that spins you around)
- A kids fun house
- And various merry-go-rounds
The Winter Wonderland will also give visitors and families the chance to enjoy a hot chocolate in the cosy Sur La Piste bar.
The food and drink options include:
- Crepe Station
- Cadbury hot chocolate van
- Alpine grill house
- Donuts
- A sweet hut
- And fire pits where you can toast marshmallows
