Cardiff's Central Square is already filthy and it isn't even finished yet

The new Central Square development is already looking dirty despite the fact that it's not even finished.

Designed to be an impressive first sight to greet rail visitors to the Welsh capital, it has already fallen into a filthy state.

The development is part of a huge area of rebuilding work outside Central Station.

The new BBC, Cardiff University School of Journalism and Hugh James offices have been completed along with an expansive paved area with trees and benches.

Dirt, litter and stains cover the paving slabs which just months ago were immaculate.

According to Cardiff Council the state is down to issues with their street washers.

A spokesman for Cardiff Council said: " The council is currently experiencing operational issues with our street washing machine. Every effort is being made to lease an additional vehicle while essential repairs are carried out."
