Cardiff murder investigation victim named as police confirm man was killed in 'domestic incident'

A man who was killed after a "domestic incident" in Cardiff has been named.

South Wales Police said they were called to Lon-Yr-Efail in Caerau in Ely at approximately 8pm on Friday, June 14 following a domestic incident.

The man has been formally identified as Binh Thai Nguyen aged 56, who died at the scene.

An 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail.

Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

His family said in a statement: "The family is extremely grateful for the support they received on the night of the incident and since from the public, both in person and via social media, but now ask that their privacy is respected at this very sad time so that they can come to terms with the loss of Mr Nguyen and that they are allowed to grieve in privacy as a family.”

Anyone with information which may assist officers in their investigation and who has yet to speak to police is asked to contact 101, quoting occurrence 1900214801.
