A woman's home has been wrecked by flash floods after she spent thousands of pounds renovating it last year.
Videos of water cascading down streets in the Rumney and Pentwyn areas of the city were posted on social media on Friday night as thunderstorms brought heavy rain to Wales.
Susan Hill, 60, from Rumney says she is devastated as her house was done up to pristine condition over the last few years but has now been ruined.
She lives at home alone but had to call family who had to fill black bags and buckets with the water.
She said: "My partner and my two daughters all came over to help with lots of other family and friends.
"We were filling the black rubbish bin, builders buckets, plant pots and anything else we could get hold of to get the water out.
"Luckily my partner found someone who lent us a pump to pump water from the front into the drain."
Susan says she has home insurance and is now waiting on a report for the damage. She has also had to pay a £750 excess fee.
Her personal belongings such as laptops and mobile phones were also damaged in the flood.
"I had real solid oak flooring through my living room, hall and porch which are all ruined," she said.
"My personal belongings including laptops and mobile phones were all floating in the water.
"It's just devastating as it was all done out last year. My family are all upset seeing the damage it has done to my beautiful home and how upset it has made me ."
The heavy rain is set to continue as the Met Office has issued a weather warning for parts of Wales.
The Met Office forecast for Wales says: " It will be a wet night away from the far west with heavy and persistent rain, and strengthening winds."
Despite this, Wales is going to be slightly better than the east of England which is forecast to see a month's worth of rain in certain places.
