Cardiff Food and Drink Festival to return and here are the dates you need to know

A huge food and drink festival is returning to Cardiff Bay this summer with over 100 traders taking part in the three-day event. Cardiff Food and Drink Festival has long been an annual event on Roald Dahl Plass and will once again return this July.

The festival will run from July 7 to July 9 and promises a "spectacular spread of quality produce", a "wonderful selection of hand-made goods" and a full programme of live music.

The free event will run from 12pm to 10pm on the Friday, from 11am to 10pm on the Saturday and 11am until 7pm on the Sunday evening. Other than a Covid-induced hiatus, the event has been running in the capital for over 20 years.

More than one hundred stallholders will offer a spectacular spread of foodie delights, including: artisanal ice-creams, cheeses, meats, brewed and distilled beverages at the Producers' Fair; preserves, sweet treats, and locally-grown produce at the Farmer's Market; while the traders in the Street Food Piazza cook up everything from burgers to bao buns, and squid to souvlaki.

A selection of hand-picked, local grassroots acts and festival favourites will provide the soundtrack, with live music performed on the bandstand throughout the day and well into the evening. The distinctive red and white stalls of the Craft Market will also return, with an eclectic range of handmade arts and crafts, all curated by CraftFolk.

Cabinet Member for Culture, Parks and Events Cllr Jennifer Burke said: “The Cardiff Food and Drink Festival is always a great day out. A chance to experience food and flavours from around the world, as well as high quality goods and produce from independent Welsh traders.”

Information for stall holders at the producer's fair, farmers market, street food piazza, bandstand and crafters market are set to be announced soon but if previous years are anything to go by visitors won't be disappointed.
