Cardiff fined over homophobic chanting in Chelsea cup tie

Cardiff Chelsea Cardiff City Arsenal FA Carabao Cup Discrimination Football Police

Cardiff City have been fined £15,000 over homophobic chanting during their Carabao Cup clash with Chelsea in December.
The FA stated that the chanting occurred in the second minute of the match at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Cardiff admitted the charge and have been issued with a formal warning.
Cardiff posted a statement on their club website on Tuesday morning that read: “Cardiff City Football Club has a zero-tolerance policy to all forms of discrimination and will continue to work with the police and governing bodies to eradicate the scourge from our game and society.”
Chelsea beat Cardiff 3-1 in the cup tie, but went on to lose to Arsenal in the semi-finals of the competition.
