Cardiff City vs Swansea City kick-off time, TV channel and live stream details

Cardiff City and Swansea City will contest the first South Wales derby of the season this weekend.

Here's everything you need to know about the crunch fixture between the Bluebirds and the Swans.

What time is Cardiff City v Swansea City kick-off?

Cardiff City v Swansea City kicks off at 12.30pm on Saturday, December 12.

The latest edition of the South Wales derby is being staged behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Is it on TV?

Yes, the game will be shown live on Sky Sports.

Coverage begins on their Football and Main Event channels at midday.

What about live streaming?

Sky Sports customers can live stream the match via the Sky Go app.

Given that the game is being broadcast live on television, the match will not be streamed live in the UK via club channels.

However, those watching in dark market areas can watch on Cardiff City TV or SwansTV.

You can also follow updates from Cardiff City Stadium on our live blog which will be on WalesOnline's football page from around 9am.

What is the latest team news?

Cardiff are sweating on the fitness of summer signing Harry Wilson.

The Wales international was withdrawn during the Bluebirds' 2-1 win over Stoke City in midweek due to an arm injury, and Neil Harris has admitted the problem could sideline the versatile attacker this weekend, although Wilson will be given until the day of the game to prove his availability.

Isaac Vassell (quad) and Jordi Osei-Tutu (hamstring) both remain sidelined while Lee Tomlin is not expected to be available until January at the earliest after undergoing groin surgery.

Swansea will once again be without Morgan Gibbs-White (foot) and George Byers (groin).

They also have concerns over Ryan Bennett and Marc Guehi ahead of the game in the Welsh capital.

Bennett has missed Swansea's last two games due to a hamstring issue while Guehi sat out the 0-0 draw with Bournemouth after taking a blow to the head in the Swans' 2-0 triumph over Luton Town.

Both defenders will be given every opportunity to prove their fitness ahead of the game at Cardiff City Stadium.

What have the managers said?

Neil Harris: “The confidence and belief in the group goes without saying,” he said.

“The guys are happy and settled and we look forward to the game. We can’t go into it in any better shape.

“Four wins on the spin for us doesn’t surprise me, because we’ve put good runs together in the past and will do again in the future. Now we want to add to it on Saturday, that’s for sure.

“Like all Championship sides, they (Swansea) have got some good players within their set-up and have had a good start this year.

“They have a relatively settled squad and we know it’s another tough challenge, but we’re certainly focused on ourselves in this game.

“I’ve got a passionate changing room and guys that want to win. They’ve stood up and shown that. They’ll certainly have that mindset and competitive nature this weekend."

Steve Cooper: “It will be different in terms of the game and atmosphere,” he said.

“They were electric atmospheres last season, as anyone who was there will tell you, so we can’t shy away from it, it is different.

“That’s why you cannot compare with previous seasons or previous games.

“But is a game that means an awful lot to supporters, it’s one we really want to win and one we want to really commit to and attack.

“It is for the supporters. I want them to see a team working hard and giving their best because football is so important to so many people.

“It will be a perfect chance to give a bit back and we will be committing to that.”

Pundit's prediction

"Massive game, this! Swansea are right up there and Cardiff are charging up the table with four wins on the spin coming into it," EFL pundit David Prutton told Sky Sports.

"The Bluebirds are banging in the goals and Swansea have the best defence in the Championship.

"It's a tough one to call, the first goal could be crucial, but I have to just give it to the home side."

Prutton predicts: Cardiff City 2-1 Swansea City
