Cardiff City vs Bristol City prediction, odds and a player who is fast becoming unplayable

Bristol City are right in the promotion mix from the Championship - but Cardiff City are at home, and no-one from outside Cardiff likes visiting the Cardiff City Stadium.

Our Cardiff correspondent Glen Williams loves it, though.

We asked him for his verdict on Sunday's showdown.

Win, lose or draw?

Cardiff City 2 Bristol City 1. I'm expecting a tight and gritty affair, with it being the Severnside derby and all, but there will be a couple of goals.

Cardiff are unbeaten at home all season in the league and I expect that to continue. They are 21/20 to win with thepools.com but the 2-1 correct score is a huge 8/1.

Who’s a good bet for first scorer?

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing. He's been on fire the last two weeks and really looks like he is getting back to his former self. If he steps up one more gear this Sunday, he will be unplayable. He is 7/1 to open the scoring and 12/5 to score at any time.

Who’s on the naughty step?

Aden Flint has four yellow cards to his name. One more and the centre back is suspended.

Who’s on pens?

Robert Glatzel is injured so it would usually be Joe Ralls, who scored twice from the spot last week, however he is also a doubt. If Ralls is out, it's anyone's guess, perhaps Lee Tomlin if he plays? You can get 7/1 for him to open the scoring and 12/5 to score at any time.

Will Cardiff keep a clean sheet?

No. Clean sheets have been something of a rarity this season - so BTTS a solid bet this weekend.

That's priced up at 7/10, but both teams to score and either side to win is 6/4.
