Cardiff City v Derby County player ratings as Bacuna stars and January signing really delivers

Dillon Phillips 7

Made one nice save to tip a Graeme Shinnie cross around the post, otherwise did his job as expected, collecting the odd cross or long ball.

Sean Morrison 8

A menace in the opposition box once again. Made one big block to keep out a Shinnie shot in the first half and did the same in the second with a sliding challenge. Had a hand in Bacuna's second, too.

Aden Flint 8

Was largely untested for the most part but mopped up nicely when called upon. Did brilliantly to win the corner for Moore's goal.

Curtis Nelson 8

Same as above really. Comfortable enough for most of the evening. A solid evening.

Perry Ng 9

Would go far as to say that is his best performance in a Cardiff City shirt. Rock-solid in defence and was a tremendous asset on the right in attack. Top display.

Will Vaulks 9

Some thought he could do with a rest, boy did he prove them wrong. Another massive performance from the midfielder. Broke everything up. Swung in the corner for Moore's goal and scored an absolute screamer.

Marlon Pack 7

Has a tendency to dawdle at times, which can land City in hot water. But otherwise a calm and slick performance in the middle.

Leandro Bacuna 9 (star man)

Scored the opening goal and took the chance well, but he impressed most pressing from the front. His energy put real pressure on the Derby defence. His second was a stunner, whacking it in with his wrong foot from 20 yards.

Joe Bennett 7

Played a killer through-ball for Leandro Bacuna's goal. Was a horrible sight when he went down clutching his knee after 30 minutes.

Sheyi Ojo 8

Gave Cardiff so much energy up front. Created a few chances, but was also a little wasteful on occasion. But did well to get in those positions, to be fair. Great awareness to set up Bacuna for his second.

Kieffer Moore 9

Another superb performance from the City kingpin. Won everything, created lots, pressed high. Had a couple of really good chances saved well by the Derby keeper before he powered home his header.

Subs

Joel Bagan (on for Bennett 39) 7 - Another brilliant outing from the youngster. Looks silky and calm on the ball and defensively sound in a new system.

Rubin Colwill (on for Moore 77) 7 - Ran around like a headless chicken late on and good on him, exactly what he was brought on to do. A second senior appearance for him.

Jonny Williams (on for Ojo 87) NA - Not on long enough really, but great for him to get his debut.

Joe Ralls (on for Pack 87) NA
