Cardiff City v Birmingham City prediction, Danny Ward set for a good run

It's been a chastening week for Cardiff City after last weekend's derby disappointment.

Will they bounce back? We asked our Cardiff correspondent Glen Williams for his verdict for Saturday's showdown.

Win, lose or draw?

Cardiff City 1-0 Birmingham. I'm expecting an incredibly cagey affair in the Welsh capital, a goal in it either way, but the Bluebirds simply must bounce back after last week's South Wales derby defeat. The home win is a very well-priced 21/20 with thepools.com , but if you fancy the 1-0 correct score that's a very attractive 6/1 .

Who’s a good bet for first scorer?

Danny Ward. Has been the only forward looking like scoring in recent weeks and with Robert Glatzel injured, he is bound to get a good run in the side. He's 5/1 to score first and 9/5 any time .

Who’s on the naughty step?

Aden Flint has four yellow cards to his name. One more and the centre back is suspended.

Who’s on pens?

Likely to be Joe Ralls in the absence of Glatzel. 11/1 first goal and 17/4 any time are both good prices.

Will Cardiff keep a clean sheet?

Yes. Cardiff have to be more resolute than what they have been in recent weeks and I'm backing a big performance against the Blues. BTTS 'No' is 17/20 .
