Cardiff City transfer news: Portsmouth star going nowhere, Wolves speculation grows as ex-Bluebird eyes Middlesbrough return

Here are the latest transfer headlines from Cardiff City Stadium and beyond.

No movement on Ronan Curtis

Portsmouth are, as things stand, seemingly set to keep hold of winger Ronan Curtis.

Cardiff City, Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End have all expressed an interest in the Irishman, who has himself admitted that he'd like to test himself in the Championship.

However, no one has yet managed to match Portsmouth's valuation, which is understood to be around £2-3m.

Mick McCarthy himself admitted Cardiff didn't have the money to get a deal over the line and, according to The News, there appears to be no meaningful movement on any efforts to prise him away.

Things can change quickly, of course, but barring a late and dramatic change in the landscape, Curtis appears to be going nowhere.

Moore central to final week's plans

The future of Kieffer Moore could well hold the key to the coming final week of the transfer window, including the chase for Curtis.

As things stand, the striker is understood to be happy in the capital, and hasn't yet offered any indication that he wants to move on this summer.

However, the 29-year-old's tally of 20 league goals last season has clearly won him admirers higher up the footballing food chain.

Premier League side Wolves have been credited with an interest, although their alleged £7m valuation is unlikely to tempt Cardiff to cash in.

Even so, should a bid north of £10m come in, it could well give Cardiff something to think about. Now, the Express have joined Football Insider in reporting that a shock move for the Welshman is being plotted.

Here's the full state of play at the Cardiff City Stadium heading into the final week of the window.

Joe Bennett weighing up Boro move

Middlesbrough are one of a number of clubs to have made contact over signing free agent Joe Bennett, WalesOnline has learned.

The left-back departed the Bluebirds this summer after he and the club failed to reach an agreement over a contract extension.

Cardiff have had a duty of care to aid Bennett on his road to rehabilitation, after he underwent surgery on his knee following a nasty ACL tear back in March, and the player has been working his way back to full fitness by training with the squad in recent months.

Indeed, the 31-year-old is now understood to be back to full fitness after posting a video of himself in full-contact training with Cardiff on Monday morning.

Bennett has logged much of his recovery through social media.

Frequent videos and photos of him training with City's squad prompted many supporters to think, or hope, that another contract offer would be tabled at some point.

However, manager Mick McCarthy quickly poured cold water over that one when asked about it earlier this month.
