Cardiff City transfer news as Turkish media claim Aaron Ramsey turns down move and will sign for Bluebirds 'this week'

These are your Cardiff City headlines on Sunday, July 2.

Ramsey 'turns down Trabzonspor and will sign for Bluebirds'

Turkish media outlet Fotospor claim that Wales skipper Aaron Ramsey has been offered to Trabzonspor but will sign for the Bluebirds "next week".

Ramsey has been linked with a sensational homecoming at Cardiff, with the player himself not ruling out a return to his boyhood club when asked about it last month.

Cardiff's new manager, Erol Bulut was asked specifically about a deal for Ramsey yesterday. He said: “I will tell you more next week if we can get to sign some players, so then you will know."

Pushed on if he had met Ramsey or planned on meeting him next week, Bulut said: “I met him in the stadium when he was playing against Armenia. I saw him play, that’s it.

“Maybe. Maybe I’m going to meet him following this. We will see, we never know."

Ramsey is now a free agent after his deal with Nice expired.

Bulut reveals why Harris left

Erol Bulut says Mark Harris left the club because he wanted to play more games.

Cardiff announced on Friday night that Harris would be leaving the Bluebirds. Harris, 24, was out of contract this summer but had been in talks with the club over extending his stay.

Those negotiations ultimately came to nothing, however, and the Wales striker will now move on to pastures new.

Asked about Harris' departure, Bulut said after the 2-0 win over Penybont on Saturday: "I saw him only for 10 days.

"He had an offer from the from the club but from his side he wants to play more games.

"In the past, he didn’t play so many games. He wanted to play. So he was also okay with that. He said he wants to play games and go in a team where he can can play more often."

Two new signings are expected to be in attendance at Tuesday night's friendly against The New Saints at Cardiff City Stadium - with former Chelsea striker Ike Ugbo a prime target.

They are also working on a deal to sign highly-rated winger Chidera Ejuke from CSKA Moscow.

On incomings, Bulut added: "We are working on it. Of course, it’s not easy because we can do only free transfers. I hope in a short time that we can have some movements in that direction."

Glamour friendlies confirmed

Post-match on Saturday Bulut confirmed the Bluebirds will take on European giants Porto and Braga during their training trip to Portugal later this month.

Bulut is taking his players away ahead of the new season, with a game against Premier League side Fulham in London also pencilled in.

"They are difficult games against Fulham and also we have will have two in Portugal against Braga and Porto," Bulut said on Saturday.

"It’s important for us because we will see also our level a little bit. Of course, the games are difficult games, but we will see where we are, so we have to work on it."

Cardiff working on exciting deal

Cardiff City are working on a deal to sign highly-rated winger Chidera Ejuke.

The Nigerian international currently plays for CSKA Moscow but this time last year he took advantage of FIFA’s ruling to suspended his contract with the Russian side for the 2022/23 campaign because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with Hertha BSC. He made 21 appearances for the German outfit.
