Adams' classy message to Forest Green
An emotional Ebou Adams has saluted former club Forest Green Rovers for giving him one of the 'best experiences' of his career.
Adams was confirmed as Cardiff City's first signing of the summer on Friday, having signed for the club on a free transfer, and was a key part in Forest Green's charge for promotion to League One.
In a message on the club's official Instagram page, Adams said: "First and foremost I would like to say thank you to everyone involved at Forest Green. From fans to staff and to my team mates (family) it's been an amazing three years with so many ups and downs. But I could not think of a better way to end this journey.
"I have learnt so much during my time at the club which as moulded me into the player I am today. I wish the club nothing but success. Thank you very much for one of the best experiences that I will never forget."
Clubs chasing Matondo
Former Cardiff City star Rabbi Matondo could be poised for a move back to English football.
WalesOnline understands Bournemouth and Fulham are keeping tabs on the forward, who's been in red-hot form on loan at Belgian side Cercle Brugge, netting 10 goals and racking two assists in 27 games to help the club to their highest league finish in recent memory.
Matondo is also one of five players to have just been nominated for the prestigious Ebbenhouten Schoen award. Cercle, and city rivals Club Brugge are both keen on a permanent deal, as are fellow Belgian side Anderlecht.
However, the Welshman, who recently won a recall to Rob Page's Wales squad, still has one year left on his current deal at Schalke, and their return to the Bundesliga may yet complicate any decision on his future.
City chief says Delaney arrival nearly sparked riot
Cardiff City director Steve Borley has claimed the club sparked 'a near riot' when they signed Mark Delaney from Carmarthen Town back in 1998.
Borley was responding to a tweet from a fan, who had held the former Wales international up as a reminder of the sort of gems that can be unearthed in lower leagues, although Borley admits that Delaney's move to the capital caused quite a stir - as did his eventual exit to Aston Villa.
He wrote: "There a near riot when we signed him from Carmarthen town and same stormed the boardroom when we sold him to Villa."
Delaney played nearly 30 games during his eight-month stay, and racked up 36 caps for Wales.
