Cardiff City transfer digest: Bluebirds bring in striker - with £2m second forward on cards

Cardiff City have completed a deal for German striker Robert Glatzel.

The 25-year-old has signed for a undisclosed fee from Heidenheim, understood to be in the region of £5.5m, on a three-year deal .

The Munich native becomes the club's seventh signing after joining up with Neil Warnock's side.

Speaking about the move, Warnock said: “I’m excited to capture Robert’s signature.

"He’s a player we’ve been chasing for over five weeks. It’s been hard work to get it over the line, but I’m delighted to welcome him.

“He’ll do a good job for us. He’s the type of striker I’ve been looking for to lead the line and he’s looking forward to the challenge.”

Glatzel's transfer follows on quickly from the signature of Gavin Whyte from Oxford United on Tuesday.

However, it would seem that Warnock isn't done there - with potentially more deals in the pipeline .

It's understood that another striker from abroad is in Warnock's sights. The forward is believed to be big, yet possessing a fair amount of pace.

Most impressively of all, he's understood to be available at around £2m.

However, a move for Harry Arter seems unlikely - with a number of clubs sniffing around the Bournemouth midfielder.

Otherwise, any new additions seem unlikely.

The remaining days of the window could be spent balancing the books - with Greg Cunningham, Loic Damour and Lee Tomlin all potential departures between now and August 8.
