Cardiff City to pip Middlesbrough to Kieffer Moore signing as medical planned for Wigan Athletic striker

Kieffer Moore is heading to Cardiff City for a medical ahead of a proposed move from Wigan Athletic, according to reports.

The Bluebirds were keen to sign the Wales international in January and have been heavily linked with the towering forward in recent weeks.

And Sky journalist Kahev Solhekol claims the frontman is currently travelling to South Wales ahead of a switch from the DW Stadium to Cardiff City Stadium.

"Wigan Athletic forward Kieffer Moore on his way to Cardiff City for a medical," he wrote on his official Twitter account.

It's understood personal terms are yet to be agreed, although the transfer fee is thought to be in the region of £1.5m to £2m.

With Danny Ward set to depart and Omar Bogle being released, Neil Harris has been keen to add more firepower to his ranks in the summer transfer window.

Moore netted 10 goals in 36 Championship appearances for the Latics last term while he has scored twice in his five outings for Wales.

He has also been linked with a move to Neil Warnock's Middlesbrough.

The summer transfer window closes at 11pm on October 5.

There will be an additional domestic window that then runs until 5pm on October 16.
