Cardiff City striker Rhys Healey seals permanent move to MK Dons

Cardiff City striker Rhys Healey has joined MK Dons on a permanent deal.

The 24-year old joins the League One outfit for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance, bringing an end to his six-year stay at the Welsh capital.

The striker spent most of the last campaign on loan at Stadium MK, netting nine goals in 21 appearances, before returning to South Wales in January.

He would go on to make just three appearances in the Premier League, all of which came off the bench, as Cardiff suffered relegation back to the Championship.

Healey first joined the club back in 2013 from Welsh Premier League side Connah's Quay, but has spent most of his time in the capital out on loan, enjoying stints at Colchester United, Dundee, Newport County and Torquay.

He currently has 40 goals to his name from 117 career appearances.

In a statement confirming the move, Cardiff City said: "We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Rhys for his contribution and wish him the very best for his future."
