Cardiff City striker Kenneth Zohore closing in on shock £8m move to West Brom

Cardiff City striker Kenneth Zohore is closing in on a move to West Bromwich Albion.

The Bluebirds have agreed an £8m fee for the Dane, who is now set to travel to the Midlands to undergo a medical.

Zohore, who is currently away on Cardiff's pre-season tour of North America, would be Baggies boss Slaven Bilic's first permanent signing of the summer, ending a three-year stay in the Welsh captial.

The news comes just 24 hours after Cardiff announced the departure of young striker Rhys Healey, with Neil Warnock clearly keen on refreshing his attacking options ahead of the new season.

A new striker remains at the top of Warnock's wish-list in terms of incomings, with Britt Assombalonga among the latest names to be linked this summer, and efforts to snap up new recruits are understood be progressing.

Zohore has enjoyed a mixed spell at the Cardiff City Stadium, netting 24 goals in 96 games for the Bluebirds, but his departure will nevertheless come as a shock given that he was widely expected to be in Warnock's plans for the new season.
