Cardiff City send scout to watch playmaker they bid £12million for in January - reports

Cardiff City sent a scout to watch Yusuf Yazici in action for Trabzonspor at the weekend, according to reports in Turkey.

Fotospor claim that the Bluebirds had a representative at the Ulker Stadium to run the rule over the 22-year-old, who plays as an attacking midfielder.

It comes on the back of Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu saying last week that the Bluebirds had submitted a €14million for the playmaker back in January - and were willing to pay more.

He said: "I don’t want to sell the players just for the money. It has to be the right club where they can continue their developments.

The barely-seen Cardiff City partnership that must be picked to give Bluebirds a shot at Premier League survival

"For example, Cardiff City have made a €14m offer for Yusuf Yazici during the winter transfer window. If we negotiated it, they are willing to up their offer up to €20m but we didn’t want to do that."

Real Sociedad also bid the same amount for the player, who could leave the troubled club at the end of the season. He is under contract until June 2022.

The Turkish outlet report that Sociedad also sent a scout to the game against Fenerbahce, along with Sporting, Sevilla and Lille.

Manager Neil Warnock said recently that Cardiff have two different recruitment plans in place for this summer, dependant on Premier League survival.

The Bluebirds are staring directly at relegation at present with two games to go, which could impact on their ability to bring in players in the quoted price bracket.
