Cardiff City reportedly tracking Celtic and Rangers striker target - but there's a twist

Cardiff City are in the running to sign Hearts striker Uche Ikpeazu, according to reports.

The 24-year-old, who scored for the Edinburgh outfit at the weekend, is a wanted man and is being tracked by Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers.

The Daily Mail repor t that Cardiff are also interested - but they will only make a move for the Harrow-born man if they are relegated to the Championship next season, state the publication.

Neil Warnock has Kenneth Zohore and Oumar Niasse at his disposal at present, with Gary Madine and Omar Bogle out on loan.

Niasse will return to parent club Everton at the end of the season.

Ikpeazu forward was with Cambridge last term and has attracted the attention of scouts from across the country.

He has only just signed a new deal north of the border, his new contract expiring in the summer of 2022.

The 6ft 3in Ikpeazu missed a fair chuck of the season due to a foot injury and has scored five goals.
