Cardiff City pre-season tour of USA and Canada announced

Cardiff City have confirmed they will tour the United States and Canada this summer as part of their pre-season schedule.

The Bluebirds will take on San Antonio FC on July 13 at Toyota Field Stadium, before playing fellow USL Championship outfit New Mexico United at the UNM Soccer Stadium in Albuquerque five days later.

City will then head to Edmonton, Canada the following week for another fixture, although the opponent for that game has not yet been confirmed.

Supporters can purchase tickets for the clash with San Antonio here.

Executive Director & CEO, Ken Choo, said: “We’re delighted to take Cardiff City over to America for our 2019 pre-season tour.

“The suggestion is that this trip will provide a tough test for the squad ahead of what we are all hoping will be a competitive and successful 2019/20 Championship campaign.”

Neil Warnock added: “I think it’s a great opportunity to get the lads away for ten days and play three tough matches at great facilities.

“We’re also hoping to soon confirm an attractive home match against foreign opposition for the final Saturday before the season starts.”

Meanwhile, it's also been confirmed that a Cardiff XI will also take on Southern League Division One side Larkhall Athletic on July 12.

It's the first time Cardiff have ventured abroad for a summer tour under the Yorkshireman, who has previously preferred to take his team to Devon and Cornwall.
