Cardiff City part company with chief scout as another key man in Neil Warnock's regime departs

Cardiff City have parted company their chief scout Glyn Chamberlain, WalesOnline has learned.

Chamberlain was a key part of Neil Warnock's Bluebirds regime.

However, as has been the case with many in the former manager's circle, the club have moved to terminate his contract.

Chamberlain, and Warnock, worked closely with self-employed contractors who were also scouts, who will also likely not be used anymore. Chamberlain, however, was the only direct employee of Cardiff City Football Club.

It is understood that a new scouting network will be built under a new chief scout, who is yet to be appointed.

Chamberlain, 61, had headed up the Bluebirds'  scouting set-up since February 2017, having been prised from a similar role at Burnley. He had previously worked at Doncaster and Swansea City, too.

Tim Henderson, head of international scouting, is still at the club, having been recruited only in April this year.

The club have made the decision to restructure its recruitment department as one of a number of changes which have been implemented following Warnock's exit.

It comes just weeks after Andy Legg was let go from his position as under-23s manager, with the club appearing to be proactive in overhauling some key areas.

Former first-team assistants Kevin Blackwell and Ronnie Jepson were also let go as part of the clear-out from Warnock's departure.

And the Bluebirds intend to streamline the bumper squad of senior professionals left behind by Warnock, which is too lopsided. They want Harris to bring through home-grown Academy players, something that didn't happen on the Warnock watch.
