Cardiff City next manager odds latest as Neil Harris emerges as overwhelming favourite and Lee Bowyer drifts

Former Millwall boss Neil Harris is now the overwhelming bookies' favourite to succeed Neil Warnock as the next manager of Cardiff City.

Warnock announced his departure from the Cardiff City Stadium by mutual consent on Monday evening, and it seems the club are keen to move quickly in appointing his replacement, with chairman Mehmet Dalman even claiming that the new man could be in place by the weekend.

WalesOnline understands that Harris and Lee Bowyer are the two men in the running to take over, with the former now the clear favourite to be given the job.

Harris, who's currently without a job after leaving Millwall last month, is odds-on at 1/4, placing him way ahead of Newport County boss Mike Flynn, who despite ruling himself out of contention on Tuesday night, is ranked at 6/1.

Charlton boss Bowyer, meanwhile, has seen his odds drift out to 9/1, placing him just behind former Brighton manager Chris Hughton, who sits in third at 7/1.

Current Cardiff centre-back Sol Bamba is next at 10/1 followed by Gareth Ainsworth at 22/1.
