WalesOnline understands Harris is the board's preferred option at this stage, but he's not the only man in the frame to take over.
Mark Hughes has entered the frame and has seen odds slashed from 25/1 to 6/4, as of Friday morning.
And despite reports on Wednesday night that there has not yet been any formal approach , Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer has seen his odds tumble from 9/1 to 4/1, placing him second in the running with the bookies.
