Cardiff City new signing announcement imminent, Nottingham Forest set £15m price tag and Ayew holds Swans talks - Championship transfer news

Cardiff win Moore battle

Cardiff City have won the race to sign Kieffer Moore from Wigan Athletic.

The Latics accepted multiple offers of £2.5million with Middlesbrough, Millwall and Queens Park Rangers also vying for his signature.

However, Cardiff will sign Moore to bolster Neil Harris' squad. WalesOnlie understands the deal could be announced within the next 24 hours or Friday at the latest.

The Welsh club tried to sign him in January but due to Wigan's precarious financial situation, they have cashed in after being relegated to League One.

Ayew in Swans talks

Steve Cooper has held talks with Andre Ayew over the Ghana international's future.

The 30-year-old ended the 2019/20 campaign as the club's top scorer with 18 goals in all competitions, 16 of which came in the Championship.

But given his hefty wages, he's expected to depart the club this summer as Swansea look to further reduce costs.

Rumours recently surfaced that French powerhouses Paris Saint-Germain had tabled a €5m bid for Ayew.

But the club are yet to receive any concrete offers for the man who returned to the club from West Ham in January 2018.

And the same applies to every other member of their first team squad.

Forest name their price

West Ham have been told they will have to pay £15million to sign Matty Cash from Nottingham Forest this summer, according to the Mirror.

Hammers manager David Moyes is keen to strengthen his full back options this summer and has been linked with Cash as well as another right back in River Plate’s Gonzalo Montiel.

Cash, 23, was the subject of an enquiry from the Hammers back in January but baulked at the £17million asking price at the turn of the year. That price hasn’t dropped much since as Forest missed out on the Championship play-offs this season.

The Mirror claim that the Hammers have said they will pay £10million for the defender but that has been laughed off by the Championship side, who want half that on top of what the Hammers are offering.

Norwich lead Gibson chase

Norwich City are ahead of Middlesbrough in the race to sign Ben Gibson on loan from Burnley.

The former Teessider hasn't played for the Clarets in over six months after falling out with the club and has been training with Middlesbrough.

Both clubs are keen on a loan deal, but Burnley are holding out for a fee for Gibson and recoup the £15million fee they paid, report LancsLive.

Bids were rejected in January from Watford and that was key in the deterioration in the relationship between Gibson and Burnley.

Osayi-Samuel future

Bright Osayi-Samuel could start the season with QPR despite doubts over his longer-term future.

West London Sport reports that Osayi-Samuel is now expected to return for pre-season training at Rangers next week after rejecting a move to Club Brugge.

Osayi-Samuel mulled over the move to Belgium after a £4.7million offer from the Belgian club was accepted by QPR.

The reports state the winger that Crystal Palace and Leeds United have registered an interest but neither club has made an offer yet.
