Cardiff City make move for Birmingham City striker Isaac Vassell - reports

Cardiff City have made a move for Birmingham City striker Isaac Vassell, according to reports.

According to The Sun, the Bluebirds have trumped bids from Luton Town and Swansea City for the striker, who has seemingly fallen out of favour at St Andrew's.

He has subsequently looked set to leave the club before the close of the window, and reports suggest it is Cardiff who are now in the driving seat for his signature.

Vassell was left out of Birmingham's Carabao Cup tie with Portsmouth on Tuesday night, sparking suggestions that he could even be on his way to the Welsh capital to complete a move.

However, WalesOnline understands that despite not being named in the squad, he has travelled to Fratton Park with his team mates.

Nevertheless, sources close to the club are still expecting the player to leave the club before the close of the window.

It would bring an end to what has been an injury-plagued stint with the Blues since signing back in 2017.

The 25-year old suffered a horrific anterior cruciate injury just weeks after completing his move, and has so far scored just once in a Blues shirt in 23 appearances.
