Cardiff City line up bid for Wales Euro 2020 goal ace Kieffer Moore - reports

Cardiff City are reportedly lining up a bid for Wigan Athletic and Wales striker Kieffer Moore.

The Bluebirds are in the market for a front man having this week released Gary Madine, despite the £6m man having 18 months left to run on his contract.

On Friday Harris said the club might have to dip into the market to fill the void that will be left by Madine's absence, meaning a striker is high on the list of priorities.

And Football Insider claim that a source at Cardiff has said the Bluebirds are ready to submit an offer to land Moore's signature this month.

Moore, who has scored two goals in five international games, has earned acclaim for his performances in a Wales shirt recently and as such his stock has risen. His goals helped fire Ryan Giggs' side to this summer's Euro 2020 finals.

However, while his international performances have earned him plaudits, Moore has struggled at times at Wigan this season, having scored just two goals.

The Latics are floundering near the bottom of the Championship and it remains to be seen whether Wigan will allow a striker of international pedigree to leave as they look to climb away from the relegation zone.

Moore would represent a like-for-like replacement for Madine, bringing a physical and combative edge which he has showcased in a Wales shirt in recent months.

While he might not have found his goalscoring knack at Wigan, he rose to prominence for doing just that with Barnsley.

Moore scored 19 goals for the Tykes last season, and was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year, which saw him seal a move to Wigan.

His stock has since soared as a result of his exploits next to Gareth Bale with Wales.

However, whether those efforts are enough to earn him a move to the Welsh capital remains to be seen.
