Cardiff City players have voluntarily agreed to take partial pay deferrals in a bid to protect the club's non-playing staff.
Earlier this month, it was announced manager Neil Harris and chief executive Ken Choo had taken 20 per cent pay cuts to ease the strain on non-playing staff at Cardiff City Stadium.
The same applies to other Bluebirds high earners who remain working to keep the club ticking over.
It comes after the club implemented 20 per cent pay cuts and placed staff on the government's furlough scheme.
And on Friday morning, it was revealed that all of the Bluebirds' first team players will take partial pay deferrals for three months.
Speaking about the announcement, Choo said: “I’m pleased that our players have come together with us to make this significant financial gesture in support of our club and owner.
“We have a tightly-knit community within the club between our non-playing staff and players; this personal connection compelled our players to step forward and do what they have done, and I’d like to say how proud of them I am for doing this.
“We look forward to returning to the normality of sport in the not too distant future but, until then, will continue to do all we can to protect the infrastructure of our club and community.”
Cardiff have not taken to the field since beating Barnsley 2-0 at Oakwell on March 7.
The Bluebirds are currently in ninth place in the Championship with nine matches of the 2019/20 season left to play.
