Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan speaks out over the controversial incidents in Chelsea clash

Chelsea may have claimed all three points against Cardiff City yesterday (Sunday), but that did not tell the whole story.

The Blues came from behind to win 2-1 at the Cardiff City Stadium, with goals from Cesar Azpilicueta and Ruben Loftus-Cheek helping Maurizio Sarri's men to claim the victory.

But there was plenty of controversy in the game, with former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher admitting that Chelsea's equaliser should not have stood, with Azpilicueta scoring from an offside position.

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock was clearly enraged by that - and a couple of other decisions that went against his side - with the Bluebirds manager staring down the officials at the end of the game, before hitting out at the standard of referees in the top flight after the game.

"We worked our socks off for three weeks to get where we were," he said.

Neil Warnock shocked by the bizarre thing Maurizio Sarri complained about in Chelsea victory

"We thought we could beat Chelsea and then a human error like this. It's just unbelievable. I can't describe the feeling.

"I think if anybody was in any doubt, I think VAR has got to be the answer. They need help and VAR would have sorted the goal out in ten seconds.

"We've worked on things in the last three weeks and one of them is coming out at corner kicks. And the lads have just said 'what do we do now gaffer?' What's the point? You've got to hope the linesman can see it! It's soul destroying really.

'Absolutely disgusted' - Arsenal, Spurs and Man United fans blast referee as Chelsea snatch win

"To be done by something that's not in the game, it's not something in our coaching that's cost us the game, it's soul destroying."

And Cardiff City's owner Vincent Tan has backed his manager over his reaction following the controversial incidents.

In a statement to Talksport presenter Jim White, he said: "I fully support Neil [Warnock] on this. The goal was clearly offside. I believe VAR needs to be implemented as soon as possible so that human errors can be avoided."
