Cardiff City boss Neil Harris says his side 'deserved to win' against Leeds United on Sunday.
Marcelo Bielsa's men failed to reclaim top spot on their trip to South Wales, losing 2-0 after Junior Hoilett scored in the first half and Robert Glatzel scored in the second.
For Leeds, it means they not only miss the opportunity to go back top but perhaps more importantly, to extend their lead over Fulham in third, who lost to Brentford on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Cardiff continued their excellent record against the Whites and move level on points with Preston in sixth ahead of their game against them next weekend.
The win was a vital one in their race for the playoffs, and Bluebirds boss Harris believes it was fully deserved against a Leeds side, he says, may just be the best team in the division.
"We knew against a Leeds side that would come out firing, we would need a fast start," he told Sky Sports.
"But we also knew they were going to dominate the ball and we knew we would have to rely on shape and organisation to try to limit their chances.
"At times, we had to do that and then we scored at vital times in the game. Leeds are a class team.
"I paid them tribute before because they might be the best team in the division.
"We deserved to win the game today."
Marcelo Bielsa's men return to action at 3pm next Saturday when they take on promotion rivals Fulham at Elland Road.
