Cardiff City boss Neil Harris lining up reunion with Stoke City striker Lee Gregory - reports

Cardiff City manager Neil Harris is reportedly lining up a reunion with Stoke City striker Lee Gregory.

The Bluebirds are understood to be in the market for a forward this month after they released Gary Madine from his contract, despite him having 18 months left on his deal at Cardiff City.

The Welsh capital club this week had a bid believed to be worth £2.3m rejected for Wigan and Wales striker Kieffer Moore , however it appears Harris has more irons in the fire.

According to the Daily Mail , the Bluebirds boss is interested in bringing in 31-year-old Gregory, who enjoyed the best part of his career under Harris at Millwall.

It certainly appears the Bluebirds are looking to add more firepower to their squad this month.

While Robert Glatzel has arguably been the pick of the strikers so far this term, no one has really grabbed that spot and made it their own.

With Isaac Vassell likely to be out for the season, Madine already gone and Omar Bogle expected to leave this month, a striker is certainly high on the manager's list of priorities.

And Gregory, who has four goals and three assists in 24 matches for the Potters this season, is believed to be one of a number of players who could leave the Potters this month as boss Michael O'Neill looks to overhaul his squad.

A number of players have either left or are expected to leave the bet365 Stadium this month, one of those is thought to be Wales midfielder Joe Allen, and Gregory might well be the next out the door.
