Cardiff City bid for Wolves star 'turned down' as request to end Sunderland loan rejected

Cardiff City have had a loan bid for Wolves' Dion Sanderson rejected, according to reports.

MailOnline report the Bluebirds asked the Premier League side to cut short Sanderson's current loan at Sunderland so he could return to Cardiff City Stadium, where he enjoyed a successful loan spell last season.

But that request has been rebuffed, with Cardiff now set to step up their pursuit of Crew Alexandra's Perry Ng as they look to fill a problem position urgently.

Aston Villa's Frederic Guilbert is another to have been linked, while the Bluebirds are also reported to be closing in on Bournemouth centre-half Jack Simpson for a fee of £750,000.

Cardiff have already had a £250,000 offer for Ng turned down, with boss Dave Artell describing the Welsh club's initial approach as "disgusting".

Neil Harris confirmed in his post-match press conference following the defeat to Norwich City that right-back was now a priority for the club, with news Arsenal loan man Jordi Osei-Tutu has suffered an injury setback.

"Jordi, it's not season-ending, it's going to be four to six weeks, unfortunately," Harris said.

"It's the same hamstring as before, so there is frustration in that, obviously, for me, the lad and the group.

"But right-back, again, as I said last week and the week before, is an absolute priority for this football club at the moment."
