Cardiff City appeal against paying £5.3m Emiliano Sala transfer fee to be heard in spring 2020

pCardiff Cityapos;s appeal against the Fifa ruling to pay Nantes #xA3;5.3m for the transfer of Emiliano Sala will be heard next spring, it has been confirmed./p pIn September, a data-content-type=news data-link-tracking=InArticle|Link href=https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/emiliano-sala-breaking-cardiff-city-17007197Fifa ordered the Bluebirds to pay/a the French club the first instalment of payments Nantes would have been owed for the move./p pThe Cardiff club then announced it would appeal the ruling to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)./p pNow, CAS have confirmed the hearing for the appeal will likely take place in spring next year, with a decision unlikely to be made until next June./p pA CAS statement read: quot;The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has registered the appeal filed by Cardiff City Football Club against Football Club de Nantes in relation to the decision issued by the Bureau of the FIFA Playersapos; Status Committee on 30 October 2019 (the challenged decision)./p pquot;In accordance with the code of Sports-related Arbitration, the rules governing CAS procedures, an appeal arbitration procedure has been opened./p pquot;The counsels for Cardiff City FC and for FC Nantes have agreed to set an ad hoc procedural calendar. A hearing is likely to be fixed in spring 2020./p pquot;A final award is not expected before June 2020.
