Cardiff City have announced their second summer transfer with the arrival of Arsenal defender Mark McGuinness.
The 20-year-old centre-back joins the Bluebirds on a contract until 2024.
McGuinness is well known to Mick McCarthy, given his Irish connection and having represented the Republic of Ireland at under-21 level.
McGuinness joined the Gunners at the age of 10, however never managed to make a senior appearance for the club.
He spent last season on loan at League One outfit Ipswich Town and made 25 appearances in all competitions, netting once.
Upon signing, the defender said: "As soon as a club like Cardiff City were interested I was excited and I couldn't miss this opportunity.
"It's nice to get everything sorted early on and hopefully I can meet the boys and get going.
"My job is to stop the ball going into the back of the net. I love heading and I love defending.
"It's a great opportunity for me to learn and improve in the next few years at the club."

McGuinness becomes McCarthy's second signing of the transfer window following the addition of striker James Collins following the expiry of his contract at Luton Town.

The centre back captained Arsenal's under-18s side which included the likes of Bukayo Saka, Folarin Balogun and future Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah to the top of the Premier League South trophy in the 2018/19 season.
