Cardiff City and West Brom have £9.2million bids rejected for Real Betis striker Loren Moron - reports

Cardiff City reportedly had a bid of up to £9.2million rejected for Real Betis striker Loren Moron.

It is understood that Moron wants to fight for his place at the La Liga club despite the imminent arrival of Borja Iglesias from Espanyol.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claim Cardiff and West Brom have each seen bids knocked back for the 25-year-old striker as both clubs attempt to get a striker through the door before today's 5pm deadline.

It appears, however, that barring a last-ditch offer from Cardiff, Neil Warnock will have to look elsewhere if he is to bolster his attacking options with Moron looking likely to stay put.

Moron would certainly have added firepower to the Bluebirds' attack and would have provided strong competition for Robert Glatzel, the £5.5m signing from Heidenheim. It is unknown, however, whether Cardiff's bid for Moron came before or after the acquisition of Glatzel.

The Spaniard has scored 45 goals in 124 games for Betis and would likely have done a lot of damage in the Championship. But it appears the chance to move to England has slipped away, however Mundo believe the striker could be offloaded to another club in Spain before their window closes at the end of the month.

These reports have emerged during an uncertain time for members of Cardiff's own strikeforce.

while Gary Madine's future remains unclear.

Birmingham City striker Isaac Vassell looks the most likely deal to be concluded before the deadline, while reports in France claim that Alimani Gory is undergoing a medical in the Welsh capital today after Cardiff and Le Havre agreed a £2.3million fee for the player.
