Cardiff City and Swansea City have an outside chance of each making the Championship play-offs after Nottingham Forest fell to a shock 1-0 defeat against Barnsley on Sunday afternoon.
It had looked like a straight shootout between the two Welsh teams for the final top six spot after they secured victories on Saturday: the Bluebirds beat Middlesbrough 3-1 up at Riverside, while the Swans claimed all three points thanks to a 1-0 win over Bristol City.
But a door has been opened up for the pair of them as a result of Forest's unexpected loss to rock bottom Barnsley, the only goal of the game coming deep into injury time.
That result makes it a three team showdown for two places, between Cardiff, Swansea and Forest.
It now sets the scene for a thrilling finale on Wednesday night, with Swansea needing victory at Reading to have any hope.
The Bluebirds require just a single point at home to Hull and Forest the same against Stoke City.

As things stand, Cardiff occupy sixth spot with 70 points, level with Forest, while Swansea are three points behind them on 67.
But with the goal difference to Swansea only one in Cardiff's favour, it means a defeat for the Welsh capital club and victory for the Swans would see Steve Cooper's men leapfrog them.
Forest's goal difference is five greater than Swansea and four better than Cardiff. But they too could find themselves out of it if they lose heavily to Stoke.
A point for Cardiff will ensure they go into the play-offs, the same with Forest.
If Cardiff better Forest's result on Wednesday, meanwhile, they will secure fifth place.
It's still very much all to play for, with Barnsley now ensuring Wednesday night could yet be packed with drama.
