Cardiff Bus crashed into telegraph pole on busy city road

This was the scene after a Cardiff Bus crashed into a telegraph pole on a busy city road.

Police were called to reports of the crash on Wenallt Road, Rhiwbina , at 10.50am on Friday.

Luckily, there were no reported injuries.

Pictures from the scene showed a lot of damage to the front of the bus and the pole lying across part of the road.

Local resident Jayne Cowan said it was lucky no-one had been injured.

Resident John Richards said: "I wasn’t involved and didn’t see it but returned from walking the dog to find the accident. 

"I don’t think anyone was hurt but there was an ambulance in attendance.  The phone cables are down and two houses seem to have wall damage."

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "A road closure has been put in place to allow for recovery work to take place.

"There are no reports of injuries."

A Cardiff Bus spokesman said: “We can confirm that there was an incident involving one of our vehicles in Rhiwbina this morning where no customers were injured. 

"We are assisting the emergency services at the scene and as such are unable to comment further at this time.”
