Cardiff Blues are considering playing two matches at Cardiff City Stadium next month.
The Arms Park region have been playing their home fixtures at Rodney Parade, the home of the Dragons and Newport County, with their capital city venue currently out of action.
The Blues have played at Cardiff City Stadium, the home of Cardiff City, before, operating out of the ground for three seasons between 2009 and 2012 before heading back to the city centre and the Arms Park.
According the BBC, the games being considered to be played at Cardiff City Stadium are two Welsh derbies, against the Ospreys on January 1 and the Scarlets eight days later.
It would be a move of necessity, with Rodney Parade unavailable for the first two weekends in January, with the Dragons at home against the Scarlets and the Exiles in FA Cup action against Brighton a week later.
The Arms Park is set to be back available again next month after it became part of the Principality Stadium field hospital complex.
Meanwhile, the Blues have confirmed that two players have tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of their clash against Stade Francais in the Challenge Cup this weekend.
In a statement, the Blues said: "Cardiff Blues can confirm two players have tested positive for Covid-19 during this week's round of testing.
"Both cases are isolated, household transmissions and the respective players are now isolating and following all Public Health Wales guidelines.
"Training this week did not commence until all test results were received, ensuring no other players were implicated as close contacts.
"The Welsh Rugby Union are fully aware and EPCR have been notified."
